The Intermediate division is for 13 year olds as per the Little League age chart (located on the CMB Website). The Intermediate evaluations are conducted by a third party independent evaluator(s). Evaluations will be held March 23 & 24, 2024. CMB will determine the number of Intermediate teams based on the number of players registered in the following age categories: Intermediate, Junior and Senior and the amount of diamond time allocated to CMB.
Cochrane Minor Baseball may ask players to move up an age category to even out teams and maximize the number of players playing in Cochrane. In the unfortunate event that players are cut from the intermediate team, CMB will work with other associations to help find them a place to play should they decide to play with another association. There are no player requests available for this division.
Coaches at this age will have mandatory NCCP certificates and will continue to develop their coaching skills by ensuring they are teaching the players the proper baseball skills and mechanics, developing appropriate strategies along with fair play and personal skills. Coaches at this level will ask the players to dedicate themselves to baseball to develop the necessary skills and team chemistry required to compete at this level. CMB would also like to encourage our players of this caliber continue to play in the summer baseball program.
Equipment needed: Players are required to have their own glove, baseball cleats, athletic protector, white pants, orange socks and batting helmets. Players are encouraged to bring their own bats as long as they meet the little league rules (See website for requirements).
Season dates: Intermediate players of this age will play mostly on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and some Sundays starting in mid-late April and ending in late June. Games may also be scheduled on Monday and Wednesdays throughout the District 3 Little League area (Airdrie, Chestermere, North Calgary) and Cochrane.
