Skills Clinics



We are pleased to welcome Cayt Edge as our instructor for the 2019 clinic.

Clinics are for girls in:

U10 - Born in 2009/2010
U12 - Born in 2007/2008
U14 - Born in 2005/2006
U16 - Born in 2003/2004
U19 - Born in 2000/2001/2002

...just register according to experience (as outlined below).

7:00-8:00 (never taken a pitching clinic) - 6 spots available
8:00-9:00 (taken a previous clinic) - full - please put your name on the waitlist (follow the same link as registration)

Location - Manachaban School - Gym

Register: (select 2019 season, then skills development).  Deadline:  January 14, 2019

There will be a variety of ages in each time slot.

Each pitcher must bring a catcher (older sibling or a parent). If the catcher is under 18 they must have a catching mask (we have some we can provide if needed)

About Coach Cayt:

Coach Cayt Edge grew up in Calgary playing competitive ball with the Diamond Devils, Aces, and Calgary Kodiaks programs. Primarily playing pitcher and 1st base, Cayt played 5 years for the University of Calgary Dinos from 2011-2016 where she won WCSA Top Pitcher 3 out of 5 years. Coach Cayt Edge has been coaching for the last 7 years, during which she got her Bachelor of Education from the U of C. She helped found and direct Absolute Softball Academy, ran numerous pitching and skills clinics for multiple associations, and hundreds of hours of private lessons working with all age groups and skill levels


General Skills Sessions

Dust off the bat and glove - these sessions will provide direction and help with the beginning of the season introduction.
Sessions will cover throwing, catching, batting, base running and more - all the basics that will help with technique and set up a great season.
The sessions will be facilitated by Jack Rosentreter along with other Cochrane Softball coaches
Jack is a former coach of the Manitoba Gators - the team his daughter Katie played on until she was 17.  Katie eventually moved on to Macon University in Georgia on a scholarship.  She also played on the Canadian National Team and was the alternate pitcher for the Canadian Olympic Team in their last Olympics.  
Mondays:  Jan 7, 21, Feb 4, 25 (6:30-7:15/7:15-9:00) - Elizabeth Barrett Elementary School
Sundays:  Jan 13, 27, Feb 10, March 3 (5:30pm-6:30/6:30-7:30pm - Spray Lakes Sports Centre turf
U10/12 will be the earlier time, U14/16/19 the later time
8 sessions - $95
Equipment needed:  ball glove, batting helmet, indoor shoes, bat (will have some extra bats)
